Senior Financial Analyst

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced, detail-oriented and strategically minded FP&A professional to join our finance team. The Senior Financial Analyst will help shape the FP&A function at Kira. We are a small and agile finance team looking for someone to deliver high-value work via both hands-on work ethic and big picture thinking.

As the first FP&A hire at Kira, you will need to be able to communicate in a clear and concise way, and be able to take in many perspectives from different sides of the business. You’ll assess the situation effectively before responding to requests and you understand the value of good data. You will be leading the development and process improvements around the function within the organization

Responsibilities include assisting with financial planning and budgeting processes, quarterly re-forecasting, analyzing financial statements and reports, developing financial models, establishing and reporting on KPIs, preparing projections under different scenarios, and performing research and analysis as may be required by leadership. As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will also be responsible for taking on ad-hoc projects and provide support to the rest of the finance team where necessary. What You Will Be Doing

• Reviewing and analyzing financial statements and reports
• Tracking and Analyzing key SaaS Metrics and drawing conclusions
• Preparation of the budget, including quarterly updates and rolling forecasts
• Assisting with monthly close processes
• Developing financial projections and building financial models
• Budget vs. Actual variance analysis
• AWS cost analysis
• Marketing spend ROI analysis
• Assisting other departments with financial guidance
• Make improvements to existing FP&A processes

What You Bring

• Bachelor's and/or graduate degree degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. CPA designation strongly preferred
• 3+ years of experience in financial planning, analysis, and modeling
• Understanding of ASPE and IFRS and how to read differences between the statements
• Ability to present financial information to a non-financial audience
• Working knowledge of financial strategies
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
• Detail-oriented and able to perform in a high-pressure environment.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Excel, preferably experience with Netsuite and/or Xero.
• Experience with FP&A tools preferred (Adaptive, Vena, etc.)
