SUMMARY

Advertising is a strategic imperative for Hulu. The Beijing Ad Intelligence team's mission is to transform TV advertising and Hulu's Ad platform with data and AI. We build services, data platform and machine learning based optimization engines for every aspect of advertising, including targeting, decisioning, pricing, personalization, inventory forecasting, attribution and full-funnel measurements. Our tenant is a strong tech team to deliver E2E solutions covering tech areas ranging from research, bigdata, microservices to data applications with front-end tools. Our team is seeking an SDET(Software Development Engineer in Test) contractor who will build automated test framework to validate and verify of our data and algorithm powered products. The right person for this role is keen to exploring and promoting data value, assuring data quality, and solving technical challenges with bigdata and/or OLAP analytic technologies. WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Own e2e test strategy, analyze requirements, build test plan and design test cases spanning from feature, integration, regression, system to performance test for microservices or bigdata based products.
• Build automated and reusable test framework for both frontend and backend components to improve development quality and velocity.
• Diagnose, debug and perform root cause analysis for issues in production or test environments;champion, drive, advocate for their resolution; report defects and verify fixes.
• Create and maintain test data for manual and automated testing.
• Establish and advocate standard methodologies for quality assurance.
• Dive deep for data issues, pull data to quantify problems, and provide measurable insights to partners or developers.
• Build quality metrics throughout data lineage and identify quality improvement opportunities for product development.

WHAT TO BRING

• MS or BS in computer science, or EE.
• 3+ years of experience as an SDET or SDE including validation and verification of backend services, REST APIs, web frontend, or ETL pipelines.
• Strong experience in SQL and Hadoop ecosystem (e.g HBase, Hive, Spark/Flink, Presto and etc.).
• Familiarity with at least one of Python, Java, Scala, Golang or any scripts.
• Knowledge of QA methodology and proficiency with developments tools for test management, version control(e.g. GitHub), issue tracking(e.g. Jira), CICD(e.g. Jenkins) and etc.
• Quality first attitude, passion for technology, open to interdisciplinary work, and experience in building microservices and data/web applications.
• High-reaching spirit of loving autonomy, knowing how to deliver, and longing for the opportunity to build groundbreaking solutions to challenging problems.
• Ability to work with program manager, product managers and engineering teams to align acceptance criteria and evaluate testability.

NICE-TO-HAVES

• Experience in digital video advertising domain.
• Experience with MySQL, Druid, MemSQL, TiDB and etc.
• Experience with CRM, DMP, user persona, and audience insights
• Experience in developing web applications, RESTful APIs, ETL pipelines, microservices, etc.
• Proficiency in both written and oral English
