Architecture - Project Architect I | Architectural Designer I

The Project Architect I | Architectural Designer I position provides opportunity to advance your professional, technical, and communication skills. Registration required for Project Architect I title; however, roles and responsibilities do not vary. You will work closely with the Project Manager and integrated design team to provide the highest level of client service and design execution. On a daily basis, you will drive the preparation of project plans, diagrams, renderings, and specifications.

You will communicate with support teams for documentation of permit drawings and presentation renderings, and help to coordinate between clients and our global team of internal and external partners.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Project Design Lead and Project Manager to generate clear diagrams, technical drawings and code analysis of projects
  • Interface with and provide technical guidance to collaborating design and production teams, both domestic and abroad.
  • Coordinate with consultants, collaborating design partners, and internal Katerra teams to follow standards and best
  • practices that are applicable to both manufacturing and construction
  • Support Project Management with coordinating and reviewing work of design staff and consultants
  • Support Project Management with client coordination, eventually taking over as the point of contact with the client.
  • Assist in maintaining documentation procedures and standards.
  • Possesses full knowledge of best practice standards and expectations.
  • Some periodic domestic travel may be required.

Required Skills & Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in architecture
  • An undergraduate degree in architecture, a Master’s of Architecture Degree, or equivalent work experience.
  • Knowledge of architecture and architectural principles and techniques.
  • Knowledge of building materials and construction methods.
  • General knowledge of construction principles and practices.
  • Ability to interpret applicable building codes, local ordinances, and regulatory agencies.
  • Experience in construction administration and specification review.
  • Strong skills in Autodesk Revit Architecture, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite
  • Proficiency with Agile workflow and Jira software a plus
  • Proficiency with Rhino, Grasshopper, and/or parametric scripting a plus
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, learning and successfully working in multicultural environments.
