Job Summary

Healthcare Coding Specialist expertise is critically needed to be a part of our software development and evaluation teams for ICD 10, Radiology Clinical Reporting and Emergency Room Guidance. Nuance will provide 4-6 weeks of technical application training and mentoring before being assigned to a project. Reimbursement is supported for membership in Professional Organizations and employee development time is provided to obtain your CEUs.

Nuance needs Medical Coding Specialists to - THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN MELBOURNE,FL.

• Review patient cases and label specific terms for clinical conditions, diagnoses, symptoms, treatments, measurements and other evidence.
• Evaluate the software’s interpretations, identifying errors or improvements to realistically represent clinician and medical coder interpretations.
• Serve as a healthcare coding resource for internal customers and software development teams to ensure our products can meet the needs of our clients and their patients.

Education Knowledge Skills and Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Possess one of the following CPC, CCS-P, CCS, or RHIT/RHIA or other recognized coding or HIM credential.
• 2-years hands on experience in Inpatient or Emergency Department or Radiology coding.
• Comfortable working with a cross functional team of medical coders, nurses, physicians product managers implementation consultants, software engieer, and engineers.

Additional Skills and Qualifications that are a Plus

• Past experience in chart abstraction and auditing experience
• Radiology Certified Coder or Certified Interventional Radiology Cardiovascular Coder or Certified Emergency Department Coder or planning to take these certification exams within 3 months of hiring
