About this Position

Title: Sr. Software Engineer

Location: Sunnyvale, CA.

Riverbed is looking for a senior level software engineer to design and implement product features in Riverbed’s WAN Optimization and SaaS Acceleration products by participation from the design phase, to writing high quality and maintainable code through to qualification and testing of features.

What you’ll do:

• Take a proactive role in the analysis, debugging and resolution of defects as reported by QA teams and from the field in a timely manner
• Collaborate with product owners and architects by leading prototyping and design efforts, scoping and providing accurate development estimates
• Work on performance tuning and Scaling the SaaS accelerator service in the cloud
• Apply storage related knowledge to profile and incrementally improve use of datastore within the SaaS Accelerator service and the SteelHead Appliance
• Work in an agile environment

What you should have:

• BS in CS or equivalent field (MS preferred)
• 10+ years of experience in software development
• Extensive experience in ANSI C/C++/ Python programming in a Linux environment
• Capable of fully understanding distributed and fault tolerant systems, networking protocols and services and their implementation within a Linux environment
• Good understanding of Cloud Security and processes (PKI)
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Strong technical leadership and mentoring skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
