Job summary

The Red Hat Sales team is looking for a Senior Manager to join us in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) near any of our offices in the region. In this role, you will manage a team of managers and guide a team of inside sales representatives spread across multiple locations and working in matrix-oriented roles, who are responsible for developing and carrying out sales plans in the region. You'll mentor the team and motivate them to promote Red Hat’s solutions and services, while also ensuring that established metrics are met. You will also play a key part in providing regional leadership on a number of our core inside programs and initiatives to ensure that they are implemented and managed with the right regional and local balance and that they meet internal stakeholder demands and regional and global KPIs. As a Senior Manager, you will partner with the country managers and the inside sales manager community to ensure alignment, understand the inside sales capability development needs, and work to create the right solutions to address these issues.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Foster enterprise account team planning, collaboration, and implementation
  • Represent the Inside Sales team in the EMEA Telco Management team as well as actively work as a member of the Telco Management team to develop the overall business beyond inside sales responsibilities
  • Set sales targets, KPIs, and management by objectives (MBO) strategies for the team and individuals and ensure that these are met or exceeded, along with effective daily management of operations, forecasting, and sales cycle stages
  • Balance the team between new sales and renewals
  • Recruit the right managers and salespeople for your team; interview, hire, and oversee the on-boarding of new associates
  • Mentor, train, and coach representatives on supporting, prospecting, sales methodology, and closing; make sure that all team members have individual development plans
  • Remotely build company culture and values; maintain an open culture and a motivated sales team
  • Coach the inside sales representatives to increase their business competencies and knowledge of offerings and applications; ensure they use skills and competencies to generate revenue and achieve their targets
  • Build and maintain solid relationships with all country and named inside sales managers spread across multiple locations, fostering communication and contributing to EMEA business strategy and planning

Required skills

  • 4+ years of inside sales management experience within a complex matrixed environment
  • 2+ years of remote EMEA sales management experience
  • Solutions selling experience toward large enterprise customers
  • Solid planning, prioritizing, and project management experience, ideally in a complex global matrixed environment
  • Ability to build, challenge, and shape solid professional relationships
  • Understanding of the company vision and mission linked to direct application of methods and plans to accomplish sales targets
  • Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining high attention to detail
  • Desire to achieve results; energized by tough problems and able to find solutions which are simple, effective, and add value to the business
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills; ability to quickly grasp the essence of a problem and consolidate ideas to deliver the right solution for the business
  • Ability to coach and motivate high-volume, goal-oriented sales representatives on a proactive and sustained basis
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of how to balance strategy development and implementation in the team as well as how to organize the team
