Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is currently searching for a Manager, Business Development Group to direct a team of Business Development Representatives responsible for prospecting and lead generation. In this role, you will plan and manage lead generation activities to ensure personal and departmental goals are reached. You will educate your team in business development techniques and tactics, helping them learn how to identify opportunities, inform customers and clients about our solutions, and cultivate opportunities that will result in future sales. You will also work directly with other sales leaders to collaborate on successful sales strategies.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Accurately forecast annual, quarterly, and monthly sales KPIs
• Assist business development representatives with questions and issues arising during the early stages of the sales process
• Monitor competitive activity and trends within the industry
• Mentor and train business development representatives to help prepare them for further sales career advancement
• Evaluate the effectiveness of Business Development Representatives and recommend appropriate changes
• Maintain expertise on company’s products/services to effectively manage sales activities
• Give regular feedback and document progress/improvements in performance appraisals for your team; interview, hire, and train as required to hit team and company objectives

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS JOB

• Bachelor’s degree in business, sales, marketing, or related field; or equivalent work experience
• 2+ years of successful experience managing a Business Development/Sales Development team
  • Focus on technology or SaaS (Software as a Service) products is highly preferred
  • Experience building and scaling a BDR/SDR team highly preferred
• Familiarity with Business Development strategies; AB testing, call cadences, management of CRM activities
• Experience with CRM software and sales tools; Salesforce highly preferred
  • Use of additional sales engagement and call cadence tools such as Marketo, Seismic, Gong, Outreach, HubSpot, etc. desired
• Complete knowledge of phone and internet sales techniques, with the ability to mentor and motivate a team
• Must have the ability to solve problems over the phone, and calm escalated issues
• Must be dedicated, organized, detail minded, analytical, positive, and have the ability to excel within a team environment
