DescriptionOversee the creation of a consistent, intuitive, easy-to-use user experiences that amplifies and adheres to the BBW brand guidelines. Direct management of a dynamic and talented design team. This includes; career mentorship, helping them to refine their process, and equipping them with the resources they need to execute at a high level. Collaborates with Creative, Marketing, Product Managers, Developers, Business Analysts, etc. Adept at high-level product thinking, defining problems, and designing well-thought out solutions. Effectively articulates even the most abstract ideas, strives to keep the lines of communication open at every point throughout the process.Responsibilities:• Collaborate with project contributors, stakeholders and cross functional teams to create user-focused concepts and interactive solutions for web & application interfaces• Develop detailed product deliverables that effectively communicate UX designs and product requirements • Maintain knowledge of user interface processes, tools and best practices to achieve higher quality, lower costs and shorter time to release • Collaborate with product, management engineering, data, and executive teams to ensure we are delivering amazing user experiences.• Effectively communicate concepts with conviction• Be a strong advocate for the design process, to create products that enhance the ecommerce shopping experience• Create and maintain UX/UI site and application templates & style guides• Produce, optimize and deliver appropriate files to the Front-End Development team • Know and understand both the waterfall and agile development methods• Know and understand how to collaborate with the Front-End Development to ensure design integrity is maintained as product is developed.• Initiate and take ownership of continuing to improve skills applicable to UX Design by utilizing available resources, as needed.• Adhere to internal and external deadlines• Meet once a week with manager to discuss performance, ask questions, stay informed, etc.• Build cross-functional relationships within the BBWD team to align and create efficiencies within the business and brand• Participate as needed, in the creation of fresh new ideas/concepts for the business as directed by Design & Development Leads (CD, ACD, AAD, FEWD)QualificationsQualifications: • Expert in all areas of UX Design (information architecture, interaction design, visual design, prototype engineering, content)• Highly organized with excellent attention to detail, strong time management skills• Marketing/Retail sensibility - good understanding of the rapidly evolving digital marketplace• Proven ability to translate complex design challenges into clear, user-friendly experiences and products• Ability to brainstorm concepts to improve on existing user experience• Excellent knowledge of best practices for the Web, Web accessibility with a particular focus on online retail• Ability to maintain a positive, healthy perspective in difficult situations, responds quickly to change with a positive attitude• Provide clarity in group discussions, having influence, getting buy-in and driving alignment• Ability to research and resolve issues using appropriate resources• Assist in hiring designers/researchers to complement the product organizationExperience Required: • 6+ years of hands-on consumer UX Design experience• 2-3 years of managing a team of at least 2 designers• Working knowledge Web Development languages HTML, Javascript, CSS• Strong UX design experience with a major retail/fashion or beauty brand preferred• Proven ability to balance aesthetic, technical, and business aspects of an established e-commerce website• Proven ability to stay within technical guidelines such as programming languages, file and page sizes, and web site structure.• Comfortable analyzing qualitative and quantitative data to uncover insights related to user experience• Ability to use a Mac, fluency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop. • Efficiency at prototyping tools & diagramming tools• Ability to communicate verbally and in writingAn equal opportunity employer, we do not discriminate in hiring or terms and conditions of employment because of an individual’s race, color, religion, gender, gender identity, national origin, citizenship, age, disability, sexual orientation, marital status or any other protected category recognized by state, federal or local laws.
