Job summary

The Red Hat Consulting team is looking for a Cloud Consultant focused on Red Hat OpenShift to join us in Madrid, Spain. In this role, you will specialize in the design and development of automated container platforms, deployment pipelines, and cloud-ready application architectures. You'll lead the on-site implementation of Red Hat's technologies like Red Hat OpenShift, Red Hat OpenShift Container Storage, and Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform. You'll play a key role in the enterprise development of our customers, helping make our solutions both practical and workable for their businesses. You'll work to gain an understanding of customer infrastructure and business needs, make recommendations that resolve their issues, and help them make strategic decisions. As a Cloud Consultant, you will help customers build enterprise applications and capabilities around cloud technologies to streamline development and allow for continuous feature release of applications.

Primary job responsibilities

• Serve as a subject matter expert at the customer site, addressing technical, development, or strategic IT requirements
• Understand industry practices and Red Hat's policies, procedures, and values
• Demonstrate good judgment in selecting best methods to obtain solutions
• Implement and integrate Red Hat's open and hybrid cloud solutions including Red Hat OpenShift and other Red Hat's offerings
• Collaborate with project and customer team members to meet timelines and goals
• Contribute to project documentation and diagrams, including ticket or bug management
• Mentor and share your knowledge with customers
• Develop and implement automation and integration for customer cloud and system infrastructure solutions using Ruby or Python
• Define and promote the adoption of automation techniques and DevOps processes to improve the cloud life cycle, including infrastructure and application uptime, availability, and time-to-market
• Implement solutions using cloud technologies, design principles, integration points, and automation methods

Required skills

• 3+ years of experience working directly with enterprise stakeholders on a range of development and deployment projects
• 3+ years of experience with and advanced knowledge of Red Hat OpenShift or underlying components like Kubernetes and Docker
• Deep knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Red Hat OpenShift, and Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform solutions
• Ability to communicate value, progress, and metrics of key projects to required stakeholders in both technical and business audiences
• Working experience with DevOps and agile processes
• Experience using public cloud technologies and providers like Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure
• Experience implementing system infrastructure and cloud solutions, including data storage, networking, monitoring, and security
• Experience working with Bash and similar command line tools
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and good presentation skills
• Ability to study on your own, learn quickly, and put new ideas into practice
• Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification or ability to complete certification within 30 days of being hired
• Passion for open source, software, tooling, and automation
• Good communication skills in English and Spanish; Portuguese is a plus
• 50% to 75% availability to travel
