Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in the mobile industry working across mobile devices, mobile operator, and/or related consulting.
  • 7 years of experience in sales, business development, or partner management in a consumer electronics/products company.
  • Ability to speak and write in English and Korean fluently and idiomatically.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with ongoing partner hands-on relationship management.
  • Experience with partner development and management activities.
  • Ability to interpret legal documents, while keeping in mind local context, and work with attorneys on specific agreement language.
  • Ability to plan and manage at strategic and operational levels in partner companies.
  • Ability to represent the company in discussions and structure agreements.
  • Excellent communication, consultation and analytical skills with excellent business judgment.

Google's line of products and services to our clients never stops growing. The Partnerships Development team is responsible for seeking and exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Equipped with your business acumen and extensive product knowledge, you are right on the front line of interacting with our partners, and helping them find ways to grow using Google's newest product offerings. Your knowledge of relevant verticals and relationships with key industry players will help shape our great applications and content for products such as YouTube, Google TV and Commerce.

Our clients' needs are constantly changing, and so our products need to change with them. Strategic Partner Managers serve as our consultants to our customers, using research and analytics to build long-lasting relationships with partners. Your expertise of Google's products and our partners' businesses will allow you to identify new opportunities for their growth, launch new products, and expand the impact of our clients' work. You'll use relationship-building skills to work effectively with partners, in order to best represent our users, products and programs and drive growth.

As a Strategic Partnership Manager, you'll be responsible for leading the distribution of Google branded hardware and managing partnerships with carriers, consumer electronics retailers and distributors, including developing channel strategy and consulting on commercial terms, marketing, and merchandising. You'll work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Retail Marketing, Retail Operations, Logistics, and Customer Support teams locally/regionally on new initiatives and key strategic projects. Our team works to bring the best of Google’s software and hardware to our users by bringing to market and distributing a Google-branded hardware portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Drive and action on distribution agreements and sales for Google-branded hardware and deliver to goals.
  • Negotiate agreements with potential partners, lead exploratory talks, build consensus with internal and external executives.
  • Own a sales goal, manage partnerships to deliver results, and build long-term partner relationships with external partner managers. Identify and prioritize partner goals.
  • Serve as a Google-branded hardware relationship manager to realize and optimize value from the partnership.
