Job summary

The Red Hat Iberia Sales team is looking for an exceptional sales leader and skilled executive to join us as a Mid Market Manager in Madrid, Spain. In this role, you will report dotted line to the Country Director and strong line to the Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) Vice President for mid market and small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs). You’ll serve as the primary point of contact for strategy, marketing, and direct and channel sales activities in the mid market segment. You’ll work closely with the rest of the country and EMEA teams to promote the development of the mid market. You’ll serve as the face of Red Hat in this market with regulatory bodies and partners and assume full profit and loss (P&L) accountabilities for this customer segment. As a Mid Market Manager, you will lead by example, instilling a consultative sales mindset in which Red Hat strives to engage C-level decision makers like CIOs, CEOs, and CFOs in strategic business conversations. You’ll gain keen insight into their business needs and develop Red Hat based solutions that can address these needs. You will build, train, and manage a Sales team and you'll play an active role in shaping and developing new customers and partnerships to achieve Red Hat's strategy of being the leader in infrastructure and platform solutions for cloud and enterprise.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Build, manage, and lead the Mid Market Sales team; serve as a strategic team leader who plays an active role in helping the team succeed
  • Identify, attract, develop, and retain talented people; build a positive team culture including rewards and recognition that align individual focus with our company goals
  • Create sales training for your team to build their skills; coach and mentor them, improving the effectiveness of each member
  • Lead an effective sales management process for the team, including account and visit planning performance assessment, follow up, and closing
  • Spend time with customers and partners on a regular basis gaining valuable feedback to help shape and develop Red Hat's approach in this marketplace
  • Guide a multi-offering sales strategy to include Red Hat's solutions in enterprise operating systems, virtualization, middleware, big data, and cloud; look to gain references based on customer satisfaction and solution sales in the marketplace
  • Engage and lead cross-functional teams to develop and carry out successful strategies for mid market customers and partners; work closely with the Marketing, Demand Generation, Operations, and regional Services and Partner teams to develop a holistic sales, marketing, services, and channel strategy for the mid market
  • Serve as an open source champion and embody Red Hat's values of freedom, courage, commitment, and accountability

Required skills

  • 10+ years of customer-related sales experience in enterprise technology, e.g., infrastructure software including operating systems, security, cloud enablement, information management, and middleware IT services including business process outsourcing (BPO), system integration, and application development
  • Understanding of the complete sales cycle management from prospect to close
  • Ability to build long-term relationships with customers and partners by establishing trust and credibility with an emphasis on coaching teams to achieve a high level of competence
  • Proven success in implementing short and long-term focused strategies to grow revenue within a region
  • Record of ownership over personal and team revenue targets; forecast sales accurately and identify critical sales pipeline indicators
  • Demonstrated experience of business management in both direct and matrixed reporting lines
  • Experience working in a global technology company; record of contributing to the broader region's business success
  • Bachelor's degree; relevant advanced degree is a plus
  • Proven experience ensuring that P&L targets are met or exceeded
  • Fluent language skills in Spanish and English
