As a Data Science intern, being part of a growing community of data enthusiasts, you will get the opportunity to make a direct impact. By conceptualizing machine learning models that help us anticipate customer behaviour, or by building predictive models that enhance the expressiveness of the MongoDB query language (just to name a few ideas), you will be able to understand how to contribute to a data driven product.

What we are looking for in you

• You are a Masters or PhD student in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Physics, Economics, Mathematics, Analytics etc.).
• You are comfortable programming in a statistical programming/scripting language (R, Python). Have an understanding of data structures, machine learning algorithms, and computational complexity. Familiarity with design of online experiments is a plus.
• You are a good verbal and written communicator. Have a strong ability to interact and communicate with people from diverse professional and educational backgrounds.
• You are comfortable thinking analytically about ambiguous problems and are willing to put your mind towards problem solving and troubleshooting regardless of methods, techniques, or tools; not hung up on implementing a convolutional neural net!

What you’ll find at MongoDB

• You will write code (Python, R, SQL, etc.) for analysing data, and build statistical models to solve specific business problems.
• You will build stakeholder-facing reports & visualizations to provide insights and metrics which help understand user behaviour.
• You will collaborate with data engineers, UX researchers, software developers, and data analysts/scientists to build data science solutions and provide analytical support.
