Job Description BAE Systems Jacksonville Ship Repair Division is seeking to hire for multiple opening for Pipe Welders. Duties and responsibilities include, Cuts, fits, and welds pipe for marine piping systems. Personally signs QA documents for pipe joint fit up and weld requirements. Personally signs for completeness of work in work packages. Torch cuts pipe clean and true Welds pipe without leaks in positions with minimal clearance Determines job sites, particularly those involving combustible material, are safe for personnel and, when required, hot work Creates and maintains a worksite that is compliant with safety and quality regulations and policies. Read and interpret weld symbols or blueprints, schematics, and job specifications Working knowledge of TIG welding process including stainless steel and copper nickel alloys Working knowledge of the use and limitations of 6011, 6010, and 7018 (Stick Welding) and/or sil-braze rods Working Typical Education & Experience .Required Skills and Education Must complete a series of practical exams of the material types commonly utilized (CuNi, stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum) using the GTAW, SMAW, and FCAW processes.
Must have all tools required for the pipe welding trade.
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time. Must be able to ascend and descend ladders. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
