Job summary

The Red Hat Consulting team is looking for a Senior Middleware Consultant to join us. In this role, you will put our unique middleware applications capabilities for DevOps, continuous integration (CI), and cloud-based development consulting projects to use. You'll lead the on-site implementation of Red Hat's technologies like Red Hat Middleware, Red Hat’s agile integration suite, and Red Hat OpenShift, Red Hat Runtimes, and service mesh. You will play a key role in customer enterprise development, helping make our solutions both practical and workable for customer businesses. As a Senior Middleware Consultant, you will work to gain an understanding of customer infrastructures and business needs, make recommendations that resolve their issues, and help them make strategic decisions. You'll then build enterprise applications and capabilities around cloud technologies to streamline development and allow for continuous feature releases of applications. As being open is core to our technologies and our consulting approach, you’ll need to be passionate about learning new offerings and technologies and expanding your core base of expertise while promoting Red Hat's solutions. Successful applicants must reside in a country where Red Hat is registered to do business.

Primary job responsibilities

• Ensure customer success with Red Hat’s technologies through collaboration and working on a range of projects, from short to long-term engagements
• Serve as a trusted on-site expert for our customers, addressing technical, development, and IT requirements and implementing robust solutions
• Manage problem identification, solutions architecture implementation, software specification and design, implementation, testing, customer training, and deployment of open source solutions
• Deliver subject matter expertise via Red Hat’s offerings and practices, providing technical expertise to help customers achieve success with Red Hat's middleware portfolio
• Demonstrate knowledge of emerging technologies and the latest modern application development techniques
• Identify, analyze, and resolve issues with customer deployments

Required skills

• Experience working with Kafka (its open source or commercial distributions)
• Working knowledge of design patterns applicable to modern software development
• Knowledge of Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform, Spring Boot, JavaScript, Node.js, Wildfly Swarm, Jakarta EE, or Vert.X
• Experience with Docker or Open Container Initiative (OCI), Kubernetes, or other container tools; Red Hat OpenShift is a plus
• Experience with AMQ Streams
• Experience working and designing DevSecOps architectures and implementations
• Practical advanced coding skills in multiple languages and environments
• Applied knowledge of modern software delivery methods like test-driven development (TDD), behavior-driven development (BDD), continuous integration (CI), and continuous delivery or deployment (CD)
• Great written and verbal communication and presentation skills in both Spanish and English
• Willingness to travel to customer locations more than 75% of the time
