We are looking for a brilliant hands-on Software Engineering Manager to lead our Site Reliability Engineering team who are passionate about performance, reliability, and uptime of systems and services. You will have great interest and challenges working on a fast-growing scalable platform, working with other engineering teams, designing, monitoring and visualization techniques of our distributed and highly available systems.

You will be working with cutting edge technologies such as Kotlin, Nodejs, Golang, Kafka, AWS, Kubernetes, MongoDB, Redis, ElasticSearch, Prometheus and many more...

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, write and maintain software to improve the availability, scalability, security, latency and efficiency of Fiverr’s services.
• Hands-on development (~50% of the time).
• Lead a team of developers through the development lifecycle - architecture, design, development, quality and production.
• Monitoring, maintaining and optimizing production systems.
• Performing root-cause analysis for service interruptions and creating preventative measures for deployment.
• Grow and coach the team talent.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of experience in back-end or full-stack development with at least 2 years of leadership.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience with distributed backend systems.
• BSc/MSc in Computer Science from a leading institute
• Excellent understanding of modern web application architecture and design.
• Strong knowledge of modern software languages (one of Ruby, Go, Java, Scala, etc’).
• Knowledge of best practices relating to security, performance, monitoring
• Experience with administering large-scale web applications on modern platforms
• Strong knowledge working with SQL and NoSQL databases
• DevOps background- an advantage
