An independent, nonprofit research institute based in Seattle, Fred Hutch houses the nation’s first cancer prevention research program, as well as the clinical coordinating center of the Women’s Health Initiative and the international headquarters of the HIV Vaccine Trials Network. Careers Start Here.
The National Cancer Institute’s (NCI) Cancer Information Service (CIS) Contact Center, located at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, uses innovative technologies to maintain its leadership as a reliable source of non-biased cancer information for the public, including cancer patients and their families, and health professionals. For 40 years the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center has served as a contractor to NCI providing CIS services. The Contact Center serves the entire United States, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, and U.S. Associated Pacific Territories. Hours of operation are from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. PST.
The Oncology Nurse Educators are key staff members working for the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center on its CIS contract with the NCI. Besides the duties listed below, the person applying for this position will bring crucial clinical oncology credentials and experience to enhance the already stellar credibility of the CIS program within and beyond the Contact Center.

The Oncology Nurse Educator will ensure that the information they deliver is congruent with and represents the Institute and its research results. The Oncology Nurse Educator will play a key role in all components of training and continuing education for NCI CIS Contact Center staff.
