Working in Jump Trading Group’s London office has the feel of a small firm with the benefits of being part of one of the leading quantitative trading firms in the world.
This role focuses on supporting our trading and business development teams in the UK and EU while generally assisting on the legal needs of our European offices – London (est. 2006) and Amsterdam (est. 2018). This role will join an established and collaborative global team of lawyers and support staff on the legal side of the firm’s Legal & Compliance Department who serve the needs of the firm worldwide. No two days at Jump are ever the same, creating an intellectually stimulating, exciting, and fast-paced environment that enables the successful candidate to take initiative to learn and develop her/his skills constantly, while being mentored by senior team members.
You will work actively with our business development team and trading community to support new business initiatives and the expansion of current businesses, while also helping on other UK and European legal matters. Following a training period, you will take the lead on providing day-to-day advice, while working closely with the global legal team and compliance colleagues to manage legal risk and implement new business initiatives. Key areas of responsibility include: negotiating industry-specific trading and commercial contracts, advising on regulatory concerns for new business initiatives, and assisting with corporate structure and governance.
The successful candidate: has sound business judgment and exercises common sense, is a hands-on worker, is intellectually curious and resourceful, takes appropriate initiative, knows when to escalate issues, and has excellent interpersonal skills to build relationships across offices and departments. You must be able to communicate clearly, both in writing and orally, to global team members, department heads, senior management, and external parties to assess and resolve legal matters effectively and efficiently and serve as a trusted resource for the firm.
