Job descriptionWe are seeking a Product Data Analyst to join our growing data team. You will work with our product, data, and engineering teams to measure and draw insights from our users on-site behavior. Your potential projects include tracking lead behavior to provide insights to marketing, and customer behavior within our educational platform to help us improve our product. Your analyses will inform where on-site behavior data can enrich our understanding of business performance. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in product analytics and measuring the success of various marketing strategies. You should be fluent in tools to measure on-site user behavior with tools such as Heap or Amplitude, BI tools like Tableau or Looker, and understand their underlying data structures to work with product and engineering to create new data views.Responsibilities
  • Analyze data and support experimentation to evaluate the performance of our website and ultimately improve the lead and student experience. Create dashboards to communicate findings to stakeholders
  • Work with product and engineering to maintain Thinkful’s Heap integration; define and track on-site lead and student behavior to answer key business questions.
  • Be an expert in our marketing data, including channel spend and attribution data. Use on-site analytics to measure the impact of marketing campaigns
  • Identify areas to integrate on-site data with other business data (e.g., order history) and work with engineering to define ETL processes
Requirements
  • 2-3 years of measuring and drawing insights from consumer engagement with an online application or platform
  • Proficiency with website analytics tools like Heap, Amplitude, or Adobe Analytics
  • Strength in SQL, R, Python for data analysis, modelling and visualization.
  • Experience performing time-series trend analysis, multivariate segmentation and A/B tests to guide strategy and operational decision-making.
  • Experience working in a product and engineering organization with both structured and unstructured data (e.g., SQL and MongoDB)
  • Self-motivated and comfortable with ambiguity
