Senior Revit Modeler – Structural Group

Katerra is looking for a Senior Revit Modeler to oversee the production of structural construction drawings within our Structural Engineering Group.

Candidate will work with Revit models, submit drawings and construction documents for a variety of building types, as well as create production drawings for in-house manufactured items.

Must be strongly motivated and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. This position also presents opportunity to collaborate in the design process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Modeling/Drawing Creation

• Create structural BIM models and construction documents for a variety of building types using Revit, and other BIM platforms, including commercial, multi and single family construction
• Create model views, building plans and layouts, sketches, and construction details
• Coordinate with the structural design group to gather building dimensions, drawing requirements, structural details, and drawing markups
• Provide support for plotting and electronic file submission
• Work with leadership to develop and enforce best practice standards
• Creation of geometrically accurate LOD 300+ Structural Revit models
• Use of BIM360 design to optimize modeling across offices and act as gatekeeper for incoming/outgoing models/documentation
• Interest in new BIM technologies and automation processes such as Unifi and Dynamo

Management

• Working jointly with local and remote drafters
• Monitor drawings to ensure adherence to quality standards
• Ensure project schedules are met and drawings are produced on time
• Interface with Architects and MEPs, both local and remote

Required Skills, Education, and Experience

• 7+ years of in-depth Revit knowledge
• Experience with at least (1) of following; mass timber, cold-form steel, structural steel, or concrete construction
• Understanding of construction materials, methods of construction and assembly of construction documents
• Ability to work and communicate effectively in a team-oriented environment across multiple locations
• Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, manage deadlines and prioritize assignments
• Good experience in in Revit family creation
• Disciplined work ethic with great attitude and energy , Confident, proactive character, able to take the lead in challenging situation

Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience

• Working with mass timber, cold-form steel, structural steel, and concrete construction
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes or experience producing manufacturing shop drawings
