Key Responsibilities of the Role

• Undertake detailed structural engineering design
• Plan and manage CAD documentation of design work.
• Create 3D structural analysis models using commercial software, including RAM (structure, concept & connection) , SAP, ETABS, SAFE, and RISA 3D, etc
• Ensure service and project work are carried out within agreed deadlines and within budget.
• Guiding less experienced team members in order to achieve the project success.
• Act as Job Leader to deliver structural design, coordinating with other Katerra’s disciplines.
• Take responsibility for concept and preliminary engineering solutions for detail design.
• Prepare Technical Specifications and Drawings.
• Communicate directly with Katerra’s International offices, to identify and help solve problems.
• Responsible for planning, organising and managing personal workload in order to meet deadlines in line with commitments.
• Proactively raising concerns regarding workload and ability to meet deadlines.

This position will be a part of Katerra’s global structural engineering team supporting the projects in US:

A key aspect will be, to work closely with the Katerra’s International Offices to ensure the global structural engineering strategies are well aligned across the areas of technical development, project delivery, dissemination and training.

Our ideal candidate will be creative individual with good communication skills. This role will typically take responsibility for the structural engineering design and delivery of projects, technical mentorship of younger members of the design team and close collaboration with other disciplines within a multi-discipline environment

Required Skills:

• Typically, +10 years' experience in structural building engineering experience.
• Through knowledge and understanding of US Building and Material Codes.
• Experience with wide range of material, including the design of Steel, Wood and Timber and precast and cast in situ (CIP) concrete building structures.
• Experience in designing with mass timber
• Experience in designing the post-tensioning slabs , transfer slabs with American codes
• Experience in the Cold Formed Steel design
• Experience in the designing of shear wall / frames in high seismic zone as per American code.
• Proficient in structural design software, such as RAM (structure, concept & connection), SAP, SAFE and Etabs & RISA 3D
• Post- graduate in structural Engineering
• Confident, proactive character, able to take the lead in challenging situation.
• The applicant will need to have strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
Desired Skills:

• Ideally, the candidate will also have considerable experience working on international projects (US), in both seismic and non-seismic zones.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.), is preferred
• Good experience with BIM tools such as REVIT
• Experience of using computation design methods, using Dynamo & Grasshopper
