Job Description

Vlocity is looking for a talented and driven product leader to manage its data science initiatives. We believe the vertical CRM market is ready for the next level of AI driven automation. We need someone with big ideas and a unique combination of business and technical skills to help us deliver the vision.

As Director of AI / Machine Learning, you will lead a highly innovative team to strategically leverage the vast amounts of data from the world's leading vertical CRM cloud. Our ideal candidate has proven experience in guiding a team of engineers, has deployed large-scale production machine learning systems and has familiarity with predictive algorithms and natural language processing. You will be a strong advocate for the customer.

Specific job responsibilities include:

• Lead and inspire a team focused on the use of data and predictive algorithms to optimize digital engagement
• Own the roadmap and the development of the most impactful AI/ML systems at Vlocity
• Hands-on leader, you will personally own critical initiatives
• Implement machine learning and artificial intelligence models to improve conversion rates and campaign effectiveness, customer service and digital commerce
• Provide hands-on technical guidance to challenging data science problems faced by the team on a daily basis
• Translate business requirements to data science problems and lead the team to deliver best in class solutions on startup timelines
• AI Architect - Build and deploy machine learning models into production with regular validation and iteration

Qualifications

We are looking for an expert in data science, with a track record of success at the leading software vendor, system integrator or enterprise IT department.

You have an intimate understanding of the marketplace for customer AI services and tools. You have the credibility and domain expertise to present to customer service and technical executives at the largest corporations. You understand the competition, and the features that are important to buyers. You can share experiences from implementing AI solutions at large enterprises.

You consider yourself a “product person”. You love software and stay up-to-date on the latest technology, apps, and design patterns. You have a knack for making the complex simple, and strive to eliminate the extra steps and controls that overload most applications. You know that making the solution configurable is just as important as making it usable, and you enjoy setting up and demonstrating the product.

You are a credible, motivating and organized ‘Product Owner’ on your development team. You’re well versed in modern software development processes, and strive for continuous improvement within your team. You have a sense of urgency and know how to get things done. You thrive working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. You ensure your team delivers high-quality work for key milestones - sprints, releases, demos, and marketing events.

You have experience communicating with the business side of the organization. You’re always up-to-date on company objectives and opportunities. You know how to translate those into actionable priorities for your team. You’re closely aligned with Sales, Marketing and Engineering.

Required Qualifications

• Masters degree in a quantitative field such as computer science, operations research, physics, mathematics and statistics
• 3-5 years of team leadership experience.
• 3+ years in the ML/AI field
• 7+ years in the software industry
• Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills
• Excellent interpersonal and team leadership skills
• Strong problem solving skills with demonstrated rigor in analyzing data
