We’re looking for an experienced, but scrappy visual designer to lead our marketing design, brand, and creative efforts. In this role, you’ll support several of Shippo’s marketing efforts including our web design, sales materials, digital ads, email templates, print materials, and more. This high-impact role reports to the head of marketing and requires collaboration with stakeholders across Sales, Customer Success, Business Development, and Product Development.
SOME OF THE THINGS YOU WOULD WORK ON - Create consistent visual designs across various platforms, web/digital, social media, ads, video, email, print.
- Collaborate with the rest of the marketing team to update and optimize Shippo’s web properties (homepage, landing pages, product and partner pages, and more)
- Support customer facing teams (Sales, BD, CS) with thoughtful and professional collateral - decks, 1 pagers, business cards, conference hand-outs/
- Collaborate closely with our Product Management and Design team to ensure consistency across marketing properties and Shippo’s web application (product).
- Work closely with our Director of Demand Generation to create highly engaging digital ads for different platforms and audiences.
- Improve and iterate on Shippo’s brand guidelines and identity - typography, color palette and usage, logo usage. Educate stakeholders on how to uphold brand guidelines to ensure consistency.
- You tell us what you should do and what you want to do. We don’t need you to be a full-time expert in all of these areas nor do want to restrict you to a bullet point list of activities. The ideal candidate will work with leadership to identify new high-leverage activities and opportunities for growth. Our job is to set you up for success and let you take ownership as a marketer and designer.
ABOUT YOU
- A portfolio of strategic, well polished, marketing design work, ideally for well-known brands
- Expertise in designing heavily-trafficked modern, mobile-responsive web pages
- Ability to collaborate with executives and key stakeholders to create professional presentations for events, conferences, and sales meetings in Google Slides and PowerPoint.
- Clear, strategic thinking and process skills for developing brand marketing strategy
- A player/coach mentality. You are able to both get your hands dirty and coach more junior team members. Previous experience as a people manager is a strong plus, but not a requirement.
- An ability to collaborate with and communicate your work to non-creative stakeholders across marketing, sales, CS, and executives.
- An understanding of conversion rate optimization best practices and experimentation
- Experience working with data-driven stakeholders and delivering work that upholds the brand but also meets business objectives
- Experience using data, research, and insights to make brand and design decisions
- Minimum of 4 years of design experience (in-house experience preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (Graphic Design or a similar major is preferred)
- Expertise with Adobe Creative Cloud, Sketch, InVision, and / or other similar tools for design and collaboration
