Wayfair is looking for a dynamic Public Relations Manager for our European PR team to drive media relations strategies and secure high impact coverage and events. This exciting role will incorporate a mix of consumer and corporate communication, working across multiple projects to achieve measurable results. You will manage media relations, drive influencer campaigns and facilitate high profile events, aiming to boost Wayfair brand visibility and positioning us as the best place to shop for the home in Germany. Through strategic story sourcing and targeted business press outreach, you will also be key in elevating the company’s profile as an employer of choice and a leader in tech and innovation.

This role will report to the Senior manager Public Relations & Corporate Communications in Wayfair’s Berlin based European headquarters.

What You'll Do

• Build excellent relationships with media, influencers and key industry partners, helping to drive high-impact coverage with an emphasis on feature placements, in the consumer press
• Develop and execute high reach German influencer campaigns
• Manage media relations events
• Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to support corporate and consumer communication efforts
• Contribute written content for internal and external communications (press releases, feature content etc)
• Drive media coverage around corporate and technology news announcements; and secure thought leadership opportunities, coordinating Executive level media interviews
• Manage awards and speaking opportunities to support key areas of the business
• Deliver monthly and quarterly reporting and media monitoring

What You'll Need

• BA/BS in Journalism, English, Communications or Public Relations
• Significant experience in public relations/media relations
• Fluent German and English written and oral communication skills
• Proven results pitching to media and securing coverage in relevant outlets
• Demonstrated ability to craft timely media pitches based on trends and breaking news
• Organisational skills with keen attention to detail
• Obsessed with quality; data-driven with experience in media tracking and campaign measurement
• Existing press network within consumer (especially Shelter), technology and business press preferred
• Self-starter focused on delivering results and growing the business every day
• Critical thinker who is flexible and open to change and new information
• A team player with a positive, people-oriented attitude
• Grasps new information, recognises own strengths and weaknesses, pursues self-development and seeks feedback
• Language-skills in Polish, Spanish, Italian or French are a plu s
