Description:

Providence is calling a Manager Research Support Services (Research Support Services Dept, Day Shift, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska. In this position you will:

  • Plans, organizes, and supervises all daily operations of the PH&S Research Support Services.
  • Responsible for the development and performance of the Research Center budget. Maintains spreadsheets for tracking financial progress of the PH&S Support Services.
  • Provides administrative oversight for Research activities with PH&S. Serves as the primary department liaison between departments within PH&S performing research.
  • Manages relationship and acts as primary contract with Western Institutional Review Board for all research activities as well as Privacy Board.
  • Initiates, develops, obtains approval for and carries out policies and procedures which are consistent with FDA, CMS and PH&S requirements regarding human clinical trials.
  • Provides support to assist with negotiation of study budgets and contracts with sponsors of clinical trials as needed.
  • Provides support to assist with negotiations of principal investigator payments and contracts on behalf of PH&S.
  • Provides administrative oversight to ensure that proper research billing occurs in accordance with federal regulations as well as stated budget/protocol design.
  • Performs audits with research sponsors, federal agency, IRB, and other regulated agencies.
  • Assists departments in implementing audit and monitoring processes for accuracy in billing trial sponsors/department/third party payors.
  • Maintains confidentiality of records or medical center information at all times.
  • Implement care/services that recognize age/diversity specific needs/issues of customers served.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelors Degree Health Related Field
  • 2 years clinical research experience
  • 2 years supervisory or management experience in research
  • Certified Clinical Research Profession (CCRP), Certified in Health Care Research Compliance (CHRC), Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC), Certified IRB Professional, or Clinical Research Associate (CRA) required within two years of hire

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Masters Degree Health Service Admin or MBA
