The F117 LPM (Logistics Program Management) organization provides comprehensive fleet management services for F117-PW-100 engines. It manages the overhaul and repair of all removed engines and also provides field support for the engines installed on the 260+ C-17 aircraft operated by the USAF and international air force customers. The selected candidate will be a member of the F117 LPM Technical Management Team, whose mission is to provide the highest level of technical support to ensure sound engine configuration management policies leading to superior fleet operational performance. The F117 LPM Powerplant Engineer provides technical support to various areas within LPM including engine and module overhaul and repair, program management, material management, maintenance management, internal and external communication, and technical support at the assigned overhaul and repair depot. This position is located at the United Airlines depot in San Francisco, CA.

Tasks for this position include, but are not limited to:

1. Definition of engine overhaul and repair work scope requirements for all F117 engines returned from the field to the F117 UAL-SFO depot.

2. Provide support to the F117 UAL-SFO depot during the overhauls by providing timely responses to technical queries.

3. Provide support to the F117 Field Service Representatives located at base locations both domestic and international.

4. Respond to questions from our Boeing and Air Force Customers.

5. Team with Engineering CIPT and Customer Support Engineering to define scope of work required for engine events that require investigation via a Safety Investigation Board.

6. Maintain engine shop technical and cost data in current and future LPM systems and utilize the data to influence hardware redesigns and/or parts reparability.

7. Perform scrap hardware reviews to include opportunistic hardware saves, new repair development, and to maintain an awareness of scrap modes driving material costs. Perform scrap and repair trend analyses utilizing MMAPS and SAP (production materials management applications).

Education: BS degree required with a concentration in Engineering or related field preferred.

Experience/Qualifications

Required:

2+ years of experience in the following: Engine test, engine overhaul shop, and/or Air Force flightline maintenance or depot experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Detailed understanding of jet engine repair and overhaul maintenance

Experience with USAF G081 system, SAP, TeamCenter, Maintenix, and MMAPS

Strong oral and written communication skills, good interpersonal skills, and ability to work within a team environment.

Proficiency using the Microsoft Office Suite
