Manager, Infrastructure Engineering

Job Description

You : Apptio is looking for an Infrastructure Engineering Manager to help lead, maintain and support the internal services that help us deliver world class customer products.

Us : The Site Operations and Tooling team is responsible for the design, build, and operation of the infrastructure we use to support Apptio’s SaaS service. We are a global team with more than 15 team members spread across 5 countries utilizing hosting sites and AWS services in Australia, Europe, and the US. Team members are skilled in many infrastructure technologies and are leading the charge to use advanced infrastructure capabilities to creatively meet our business goals.

What we want you to do: Collaborate with our Engineering teams to define the future of our internal services. Lead, maintain and support the team in charge of our internal systems including Log Aggregation, CI/CD and Artifact repositories. Coordinate across engineering teams to guide our migration to managed services in collaboration with our global team members. Prepare and maintain documentation of existing and new service deployments.

Basic Qualifications:

• 5+ Years of experience in an Infrastructure Engineering or DevOps Engineering position
• Excellent communication and leadership ability
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and code coverage tools
• Experience leading new service deployments in AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
• Experience with Puppet, Ansible, and/or Chef and configuration management practices
• Experience in troubleshooting complex systems and finding optimization and simplification opportunities

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience leading a global team of Engineers supporting multiple high priority services
• Familiarity working with REST APIs
• Experience with high-level programming languages such as Python, Ruby, and Golang
• Familiarity with log shipping tools like Syslog and aggregators/indexers like Splunk
• Experience with internal and external DNS architecture
• Experienced with monitoring and alerting tools such as
  • Prometheus, Statsd, Sensu and Grafana
