We’re looking for an experienced Jr. Recruiter to own our entry-level hiring process. We hire our entry-level engineers in a cohort model that we’ve built over the past 10 years. This process is continuing to evolve, and you’d drive this evolution. This role provides an opportunity to bring your expertise in coordination and apply it to a high volume recruiting process for a program integral to 8th Lights’ business and values. And you would have the opportunity to grow beyond coordination by interacting with candidates via initial phone screens and build your interview and critical thinking skills. In addition, you would also play a part in senior hiring by providing great candidate experiences during many steps of the process, from sourcing outreach to interview scheduling.

What we expect from the person in this role: - Manage Full Life Cycle hiring process for entry-level program across 5 locations and participate in Senior Hiring activities - Assist with campaigns and be a part of developing strong relationships with organizations to generate an inbound pipeline of candidates - Assist with sourcing and candidate outreachPost job ads on professional sites, job sites, and social media - Screen entry-level candidates via applications and phone interviews - Work closely with 8th Lights involved in the interview process - Schedule calls and office interviewsHelp manage and participate in recruiting events - Present offers to entry-level candidates - Promote positive candidate experience throughout the hiring process - Handle paperwork (e.g. offer letters) and communication with the HR team - Use recruiting software to keep track of open roles and contribute to monthly reports
You bring: - We would prefer work experience on a recruiting team—we think this looks like someone with 2 years as a coordinator and looking to grow in recruiting as a profession for at least the next 2 years - Expert organizational skills & attention to detail - Juggling calendars to accommodate candidates and interviewers - Thoughtful approach to flow of an interview day - Making sure the I’s are dotted and the T’s are crossed- everyone has what they need to in advance to complete their job - Communication skills - Clear and timely follow up with candidates, teammates, and hiring team - Thinking of the little things that put a finishing touch on the service we provide - Customizing messages when neededCritical thinking skills & aptitude for problem solving - Getting ahead of potential “fires” and quickly adjusting to accommodate change - Relationship building - Build connections with co-workers and understand their preferences - Thoughtful networking with people in our industry - Resilient & positive attitude - Being able to bounce back, find the silver lining, and remain positive is important for us as human beings and essential for candidates and co-workers to experience - Tech-savvy—curiosity in using our recruiting tools to their fullest capacity
You’ll get to develop: - High-level understanding of technical concepts to help with candidate assessment - Behavioral interviewing & Critical Thinking - Understanding our approach to software delivery in order to assess a candidate’s experience - Drawing out a candidate’s motivations to deliver an interview process that will resonate with the candidate - Communication skills - Being a part of creating Service Level Agreements (SLAs) in order to provide the best experience with co-workers and candidates - Building a memorable candidate experience - Sourcing skills & tools - Basic employer branding concepts - International recruiting 8th Light is an equal opportunity employer.
