About the Role Our People Team leads the charge in building an inclusive workplace and is currently looking for a People Operations (HR) Specialist. Our People Operations (HR) Specialist will be one of the first points of contact for our employees and provide high touch day-to-day HR operations support to distributed employees during their employee lifecycle. They will partner with our Office Manager and Recruiting Team to successfully onboard new hires, assist our HR Manager in making sure employees are supported and having a positive employee experience, and partner with IT to take care of any off-boarding operations support. They will demonstrate consistent excellent customer service and show initiative towards creating a positive employee experience. What you’ll do: - Direct Employee Support
- Respond to first level questions from employees on Slack, Email, and Zoom on all HR topics and triage to functional HR experts as needed.
- Coordinate and facilitate New Hire Orientations and weekly Manager Training Sessions with our Office Manager.
- Work closely with employees and our benefits brokerage team, Sequoia, to ensure benefits are accurate.
- Manage a company wide wellness program to inform employees of benefits and perks available.
- Internal Team Support
- Partner with our HR Manager to manage the day to day HR operations (i.e., updating data management systems regarding employee life cycle changes, updating internal intranet/wikis, generating and processing staff change requests and employment verification letters).
- Proactively identify process improvement opportunities to better leverage technology and help scale the HR team.
- Assist the HR Manager with annual audit inquiries.
- Help plan HR related events.
- Internal Communications
- Coordinate communications for organization wide updates such as Open Enrollment.
- Coordinate communications with managers and individual contributors to process employee data changes.
- Prepare and present HR updates in our weekly All-Hands meetings.
- Information Management
- Maintain people data across HR systems and ensure all data entry has an audit point to preserve data integrity.
- Become a process and data guru; troubleshoot any data integrity issues to identify the root cause and eliminate future risk.
- Assist in system implementations and enhancement projects: requirements definition, process design, and system testing.
- Ensure necessary documentation is stored in electronic employee files.
- Position is based in San Francisco, CA.
What you’ll bring: - 1-2+ years of experience as an HR professional in California, preferably at a startup.
- Basic knowledge of HR best practices, compensation & benefits practices, performance management, and employee relations procedures.
- Familiarity with HRIS and other standard HR tools.
- Excellent teamwork, problem-solving and employee focus skills.
- Ability to thrive in an unstructured fast-paced environment, work independently and prioritize.
- Proficient with Google suite applications.
