Your Opportunity

The Managed Investing team: The Managed Investing Client Experience group is responsible for business strategy, offer design, product management and process improvement for Schwab’s retail relationship-based advisory solutions and products. Our mandate is to design and optimize the combination of services, products, and tools to deliver an experience that exceeds clients’ expectations. To do this, we work with partners and delivery organizations to ensure key processes / interactions are designed and executed smoothly. We also manage tradeoff decisions and priorities to enhance the overall client experience and drive revenue growth. This team support Schwab’s Managed Account Select, Schwab Managed Portfolios, ThomasPartners, and Windhaven solutions.

Brief description of the role: The Manager, Managed Investing Client Experience is an individual contributor role that reports to the Managing Director, Client Experience for Separately Managed Accounts (SMAs). The person in the position will partner with Schwab Asset Management Services (SAMS) on both Schwab proprietary and 3rd party SMAs, and have the opportunity to support the future SMA offering and capabilities for Retail clients and drive growth for Schwab. The Manager will lead or serve as an SME for multiple initiatives with cross-functional partners across business lines.

What you’re good at

  • Support the launch of new SMA solutions, responsible for ensuring new productions are well positioned for retail investors, aligned with other advice solutions, and that client-facing representations are prepared to discuss them with clients
  • Manage product collateral, such as internal product sales and marketing information, training, and field-facing collateral and website content for accuracy and effectiveness
  • Partner with more senior colleagues to deliver data-driven insights, producing recommendations to support actionable strategic direction and business prioritization to drive improvements to the delivery and quality of advice
  • Lead and support key initiatives such as UMH capabilities and the development of a future architecture for managed accounts at Schwab. Work closely with cross-functional teams including sales, marketing, operations, legal and compliance to evolve the offers
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, helping to prioritize objectives and identify the right strategy and tactics to support MI strategic imperatives
  • Execute certain regulatory or risk mitigation elements of ongoing offer delivery

What you have

  • Asset management experience – familiarity with separately managed accounts, UMH capabilities and discretionary advice solutions
  • Client focus and the ability to think in terms of the client experience and perspective
  • Display confidence in business decisions, actions and communications with a demonstrated ability to take decisive action when needed, including championing ideas, position or dissent to best drive efficiency
  • Proven experience in creating a strategic roadmap and project plan for teams
  • Demonstrated success in managing multiple projects with short timelines; well versed at connecting strategic objectives to tactical implementation
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including ability to succinctly synthesize data, facilitate meetings, and develop compelling recommendations and present to management
  • Collaborative skills and the ability to influence and drive decision making across cross-functional teams; thriving on initiating, building and cultivating strong authentic relationships inside and outside the group; navigating and activating alignment across organizational silos
  • Strong attention to detail and self-motivated
  • Bachelor’s degree or MBA preferred
  • 5+ years relevant strategy or product management experience
