Job summary

The Red Hat Sales team is looking for a Senior Technical Presales Engineer to join our Certified Cloud Solution Provider (CCSP) team in the Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region. In this role, you will need to have experience to develop and nurture relationships with key influencers and decision-makers within our largest CCSPs and supporting distributors. You'll become a trusted advisor, effecting and accelerating adoption of our leading portfolio of platform and cloud solutions and services as an integral part of the key influencer’s own Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) based services and solutions like custom data centres, hybrid and public clouds, etc. You'll need to be able to quickly align appropriate areas of the Red Hat portfolio, effectively communicate their value-add, and progress sales opportunities from initial evaluation to technical win. As a Senior Technical Presales Engineer, you'll collaborate closely with EMEA-level alliance partner managers and an extended team of technical presales, partner, and key account managers in-country, so you'll need to be both comfortable and effective in understanding and balancing the requirements of multiple stakeholders. This is a field-based role with a region-wide scope, so the location would preferably be in close proximity to our London or Farnborough offices, but the successful applicant could potentially be based from any major Red Hat country of operation.

Primary job responsibilities

• Work in close collaboration with Red Hat’s alliance partner managers to define and agree on CCSP strategy and implementation plans and priorities
• Develop and nurture relationships with key influencers and decision makers from within the technical presales, solutions delivery and product management areas of new and existing CCSPs
• Analyse CCSP services offerings and identify and position solutions and services from Red Hat that will add business value; deliver high-level presentations, discovery workshops, demos, and solutions definitions
• Facilitate CCSP evaluation of Red Hat’s candidate offerings and solutions by engaging the appropriate resources within Red Hat and the CCSP to progress from a candidate solution to a technical win while retaining ultimate ownership of the overall engagement; define and deliver reference architectures, proofs of concepts (PoCs), and solution validation
• Jointly develop field-readiness plans for CCSP technical presales and delivery staff that effectively leverage Red Hat's official training and certification assets and programs
• Assist CCSPs to effectively leverage resources like the Red Hat Product Demo System or to implement in-house lab environments to support their training in and evaluation of Red Hat’s solutions and technologies

Required skills

• Solid understanding of and ability to articulate current trends in the cloud provider market including how customers are migrating to cloud providers and the current pressures the cloud providers face
• 3+ years of experience working at the enterprise account level for or in conjunction with a cloud services provider in a technical presales, implementation, or support role on data centre virtualization, hybrid, or cloud Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) projects
• Solid working knowledge of Red Hat’s cloud solutions or their open source equivalents or competitive offerings like VMware vSphere, vCloud Suite, Microsoft Hyper-V, Microsoft Azure Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) or Azure Stack, or Cloud Foundry or Mirantis
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to adapt your messaging and content to various types and levels technical and non-technical audiences
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritise accordingly
• Ability to deal with multiple stakeholders
• Ability to work as part of a geographically distributed team and independently when required
• Fluent communication skills in English
• Willing to travel up to 60% within EMEA
