The Fund Administration team at Carta is rapidly growing, and as a Senior Fund Accountant you’ll have a unique opportunity to help grow the team and functions. We have a proven product/market fit in the private equity and venture capital space. Our goal is to position Carta as the leading Fund Administration group, by leveraging best in class technology enabled services. In this role, you will be part of a highly dynamic team to support our goal and the future of the Fund Services business.

Requirements

    • Work with Fund Admin team including Directors and Managers to perform daily accounting functions
    • Train and mentor Fund Accountants
    • Partner with external auditors
    • Prepare and review monthly/quarterly cash reconciliations for multiple entities
    • Prepare and review general ledger journal entries
    • Prepare and review capital calls and distributions in accordance with Limited Partnership Agreement
    • Prepare and review financial workpapers including balance sheets, operating statements, cash flows, and other accounting reports
    • Partner with Fund Admin leadership to review financial packages
    • Interface with clients daily and manage an effective client relationship
    • Maintain accounts payable and receivable logs
    • Process invoices via wires and checks
    • Maintain limited partner records

Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
    • 3-5 years of experience in Venture Capital, Private Equity, Hedge Funds, Fund Admin, etc.
    • Experience with Limited Partnership Agreements
    • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
    • Experience with Xero and Quickbooks
    • Strong critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills
    • Excellent organizational skills
    • The ability to multitask to meet multiple deadlines

Nice-to-haves

    • CPA or CMA preferred
