The Director, Global Digital Marketing, Ops and Analytics is a key member of the marketing team. Reporting to the Vice President, CPL Marketing and functioning as the center of digital marketing operations excellence for Thales Cloud Protection and Licensing (CPL), this role will employ best practice principles to develop and evolve marketing programs, operations and projects to support its contribution to pipeline and revenue goals.
This position will serve a critical role in executing our marketing strategy and growth plans ensuring that the global inbound, outbound and internal marketing functions are setup for success and continue to scale, serving our global customers, prospects and partners with world class digital experiences.
Essential/Key Areas of Responsibility
- Own the global strategy and execution for digital marketing, architecture, marketing operations, analytics, and technology platforms that support pipeline growth, including digital demandgen, lead generation, lead processes, marketing automation, technology, and reporting and analytics.
- Manage a global team of digital marketing, marketing operations and analytics professionals in Americas, EMEA and APAC regions.
- Define, develop and deliver a global marketing technology vision and roadmap. Collaborate on the marketing technology infrastructure (project management, implementation, governance). Collaborate with IT, sales, and other functions as needed.
- Own digital marketing campaign execution, globalization and localization and the translation processes for all web properties, and across marketing automation (Pardot/Marketo/Eloqua) and CRM syetms (Salesforce), including setting up campaigns, email delivery, list segmentation, lead workflow, data management, and reporting.
- Closely work with VP marketing, field marketing, product marketing and marketing communications teams to accurately implement and test programs and campaigns e.g. ABM/ target market and customer campaigns, Nurture campaigns etc.; maintain global/regional oversight of tracking and measurement strategies for marketing programs (e.g., syndication programs, social media initiatives)
- Lead the delivery of analytics and reporting to all marketing functions to provide the cross-functional marketing team with the insight for better decision making.
- Define, develop and deliver marketing measurement approach. This will include the creation of dashboards and reports to measure end-to-end campaign effectiveness across advertising campaigns, global web properties, landing pages, as well as adhoc analysis of marketing metrics.
- Manage compliance with global and regional privacy and data residency laws
- Manage and optimize global budgets and measure ROI of marketing campaigns and spend
- Continuously focus on web optimization using A/B testing and competitive analysis. Monitor and analyze customer, market and competitive information to improve effectiveness of digital marketing activities and user experience to improve lead generation and conversion
- Program manage and own project management for digital integration projects from inception to launch ensuring timely implementation within allocated budgets.
- Onboard key marketing team members. Develop and execute learning and development opportunities for the marketing organization
- Provide marketing expertise, plans, programs and execution to accelerate marketing's impact to sales in key segments, and new launches into industries, and/or regions.
- Lead marketing leadership events, off-sites, and QBRs/strategic planning/accountability reviews and measurement of marketing's contribution to revenue generation.
- Manage internal and external feedback on marketing's impact and suggest areas for improvement.
- Manage outsourced marketing operations team that propels us to the next level.
Technical Knowledge/Skills & Experience Required
* 15+ years' experience in technology marketing, digital marketing, marketing operations, or equivalent roles. At least 7 years in a high-growth SaaS or enterprise software company with direct responsibility for marketing operations.
* Knowledge and experience supporting a wide range of marketing tactics including demand generation, cross-media communications, digital marketing and events.
* Strong marketing experience in managing remote and cross-functional marketing teams on specific campaign goals and outcomes.
* Strong analytical skills and be metric driven with experience in developing marketing metrics and dashboards using BI tools like Birst / Domo / Tableau
* Experience managing marketing budgets, and global programs.
* Experience with list management, lead scoring, nurturing programs, cleansing, de-duplication, segmentation and targeting.
* Quality experience with closed-loop methodology and the hands-on utilization of both the CRM - Salesforce.com and marketing automation platforms – Pardot, Marketo or Eloqua is a must. Experience tracking leads and running nurture campaigns, email marketing campaigns is essential.
* Experience with setting up and managing optimization experiments including specific examples of using A/B testing or multivariate testing that lead to an improved conversion rate.
* Strong communication and writing skills
* Security, Storage or Networking Industry Experience is a plus.
* Experience with web technologies like HTML / Javascript, Drupal, Search engine optimization/marketing (SEO/SEM), PPC, Google Analytics and Google Adwords is a plus
* Highly proficient with Excel and other MS Office software applications.
* Excellent organizational skills with the ability to run multiple projects and meet deadlines
* Ability to travel globally
Educational Requirements
* 4 year college degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Sciences/Technology Management, or similar/related degree; Masters preferred
