District Sales Manager – Material Finishes

The District Sales Manager is responsible for managing strategic customer accounts within the assigned territory, maximizing all opportunities for sales within the account and developing new business when necessary. Accounts will include but are not limited to Multi-Family (Apartment), Healthcare, Hospitality, Commercial, Retail and Single Family local, regional and national companies in the Building industry. This individual will also will be responsible for developing the account base of ownership groups, general contractors, and subcontractors in those market segments that could potentially create sales for material finishes, such as cabinets, countertops, plumbing fixtures, lighting, flooring, etc.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manages customer accounts for the company and building relationships with key personnel
  • Develops new business
  • Networking within all industry members & key associations to secure all business opportunities
  • Builds internal company relations to satisfy customer order fulfillment and satisfaction
  • Network with key customers to identify and address specific needs in a timely manner
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers to ensure long-term success
  • Act as the liaison between customers and internal teams ensuring clients’ requirements are met
  • Identify and attract prospective strategic customers
  • Monitors incoming orders and ensures they are submitted accurately and fulfilled effectively
  • Holds regular meetings with internal stakeholders on key accounts
  • Investigates and resolves queries and issues raised, in the most expeditious manner
  • Arranges meetings with all relevant decision makers within each customer group
  • Holds reviews to assess business revenue opportunities
  • Promotes the KATERRA brand
  • Works within and adopts the KATERRA values
  • Negotiate contracts
  • Collect and analyze sales data and trends
  • Maintain high customer satisfaction ratings, according to company standards
  • Liaise with Sales and Marketing departments to set and implement strategies for new products
  • Stay up-to-date with internal and external developments and suggest new ways to increase sales

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ yrs of successful sales experience as an effective sales professional in Interior Finishes (cabinets, counters, flooring, lighting, plumbing, etc.) Individual contributor role.
  • Strong closer and customer service orientation mentality
  • Demonstrable experience in negotiating and meeting client’s requirements
  • In-depth understanding of sales performance metrics
  • Hands on experience with CRM software and MS Excel
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to lead and motivate team members
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven track record of growing business within a predetermined timeline
  • A valid driving license is essential for the position
  • Proven track record of working to KPI’s and achieving targets
  • Ability to travel within determined geography
  • Able to effectively read blueprints and understand Construction Documents
  • Proficiency in organizing and attention to detail
  • The ability to follow a schedule and meet deadlines
  • The ability to work independently as well as within a team.
  • Professional presence
  • Must be a self- starter
