Software Process Engineer - Auditing, EVMS

Job Description

Our Software Engineering Directorate is seeking a Process Engineer to serve as the focal point for process-related activities. The Software Process Engineer is responsible for writing/maintaining project process artifacts, including the Software Development Plan (SDP), Measurement & Analysis Plan, Process Tailoring, and Project Work Instructions (WIs). The SW Process Engineer is responsible to ensure that the appropriate templates and metrics are used/reported. The SW Process Engineer is also responsible for ensuring that the related files are approved by the STM and are ultimately reported to the SEPG. As part of the monthly Tracking Book package creation, the Process Engineer may assist the SW Task Manager (STM) by compiling or reporting data/metrics/analysis related to SLOC, Productivity, and Earned Value (EV). The SW Process Engineer also is a key participant in audits and/or assessments on project processes and/or products. The Process Engineer will facilitate Process Improvement Discussions (PIDs) to help the project summarize and clarify what needs to be improved.
The Software Process Engineer is responsible for ensuring that project artifacts are based on both Organizational and Program processes, and that the SDP and WIs clearly document the process that will be followed by the project engineers. The SW Process Engineer will provide training, as necessary, to ensure the project engineers are knowledgeable of project processes. In addition, the SW Process Engineer is the main Project Point of Contact (POC) to the Organizational SEPG team; the SW Process Engineer may also be the initial POC for initiatives such as CMMI that are undertaken by the Organization.
This position can be considered as a G08 or G09.
Basic Qualifications:
-BS degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Math or other, relevant technical degree.
-Minimum 4 yrs experience in all phases of the software product life cycle
-Leadership experience
-Demonstrated experience with process improvement and training
-Auditing experience
-EVMS experience
Desired Qualifications:
Existing secret clearance or ability to obtain a clearance with interim within 30 days and full clearance thereafter.
-Raytheon Six Sigma Specialist certification
-Earned Value Certification
-Previous experience/exposure to the following:
o CMMI Appraisal support, including evidence collection and interview participation
o Earned Value Reporting and Variance Analysis
o Creation of training packages
o Requirements and SW Tools and Automation
o Cost Account Management
o Proposal preparation and estimation process including EAC and BOE development
