Role Overview:

Responsible for identification and acquisition of new business, in order to sustain profitable growth of the Oxygen & PSU Systems business, from an assigned territory and/or group of commercial and business jet OEM’s.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Customer- facing sales role responsible for the Pursuit to Order Capture phase of the Collins Management System (CMS).
  • Contacts potential prospects to discuss their needs, and to explain how these needs could be met by specific products and services in order to create new client base and increase sales.
  • Works with customers to identify and develop product specifications and strategies for new business opportunities.
  • Designs and executes marketing and sales strategies, policies, and programs for company products, using Pursuit to Order Capture discipline, tools and deliverables as required by the CMS gated approval process.
  • Ensure the establishment and development of long term professional relationships with strategic prospects with the purpose of understanding and meeting the customer needs.
  • Responsible for coordinating the business development activities for prospects to support the business strategy defined by leadership.
  • Generates and identifies bid opportunities, supports business case and proposal management with internal team e.g. BIT, negotiates with potential customers and maintains customer relationships to capture new business opportunities.
  • Gather and report on customer trends and competitive activities.
  • Monitor, manage and report on the commercial business opportunities within the territory, manage opportunities via CRM.
  • Close liaison with Value Stream Leaders, Commercial Program Managers, Contracts and other customer facing and internal functions.
  • Liaison with central Collins Aerospace counterparts, as required to coordinate customer activity and maximise opportunities.

Location:

  • Role can be located anywhere within the United States including remote
  • Approximately 50%-60% travel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a customer facing role in aerospace / aviation industry.
  • OEM Business Development experience preferred, ideally with these customers, or similar.
  • Must be able to work effectively, with little supervision or direction, in a matrixed organization and achieve results through influence and collaboration with the functions without direct reporting authority.
  • Proven ability to inspire, empower, build trust and drive change and innovation.
  • Must be a champion of a Customer Culture.
  • Strong negotiation, conflict resolution and planning skills are required, as well as proven strategic abilities.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills are required.

Basic Qualifications:
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 5 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 3 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required.
