Job Description

Penguin Random House LLC. is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Associate-Input to join their team . Under moderate supervision, is responsible for processing all variations of vendor invoices, check/wire requests, T&E reports and other similar entries, as well as monitoring EDI/electronic invoice postings, reconciliation of employee payment accounts and electronic filing of verified work. Takes ownership of responsibilities and is accountable for individual results.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for daily electronic and paper processing of invoices, credits, check requests and other payment requests

into SAP system with speed and accuracy and within established guidelines

  • Responsible for accurate verification and posting of entries into SAP system
  • Processing of Travel & Entertainment (corporate credit cards and employee reimbursements) reports via the Concur

system including verification of receipts and project coding

  • Processing of employee reimbursement and maintains/reconciles spreadsheet monthly
  • Makes logical and sound decisions, and keeps management apprised of potential problems/concerns
  • Professionally responds to inquiries from internal and external customers/vendors
  • Knowledge of tax codes (taxable vs. non-taxable) relevant to payments processed
  • Daily electronic filing of processed/verified work
  • Actively identifies on-going issues and recommends solutions to correct or improve our processes
  • Possess overall comprehension of various processing procedures, account code structures, approval requirements,

etc. for entry/payment processing via SAP

  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of SAP A/P and purchasing modules in relation to processing and/or required

research for vendor account payment status/ inquiries

  • Performs other tasks and projects as needed
  • Manages priorities to meet deadlines within established guidelines
  • Demonstrates self-reliance and resourcefulness

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Professional experience / competencies / traits

  • Demonstration of exceptional data entry skills
  • 1-2 years accounting experience preferred
  • Possess strong computer, math and analytical skills
  • Accurate and detail oriented
  • Able to set priorities and manage the daily workflow
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environment with heavy work volume and with others in a team environment to

meet individual and departmental goals

  • Ability to identify and communicate problems for resolution
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
