Head of Procurement

Job Description

Within a GBU, the Head of Procurement for a given Business Line (BL) is responsible for all purchases that are part of a Bid / Project / Product belonging to that BL.

We are looking for a Head of Procurement for the Cloud Protection & Licensing (CPL) Business Line.

As the representative of the Procurement organisation for your given perimeter, you are accountable for procurement target achievement in the CPL BL. You are responsible for providing the best procurement solution (quality, price and timing) and to bring innovations from the suppliers in our products or projects, fitting with the customer needs and aligned with the Thales Procurement strategy lead by the Global Category Managers. You are responsible to improve, on a yearly basis, the products costs (for the procurement parts) through a concrete action plan, embarking all segments and stakeholders.

To that end you will manage a team of Bid/Project/Product procurement managers and tactical buyers who are under your direct responsibility.

What we can accomplish together:As the Head of Procurement for the Cloud Protection & Licensing (CPL) Business Line, you will develop and promote Thales procurement competitiveness internally as well as externally (customer, consortia, etc...).

Your main missions are as follows:

• You will setup a procurement team that will provide competitiveness to the CPL BL.
• You will organize your team – in coordination with BL, CBU, Region – in order to manage the procurement in all bids, projects and products of the CPL BL.
• You will coordinate with the Segment and the Region organizations on strategies, resources needed, and sourcing decisions.
• You will coordinate with Supplier Performance and Process & tools teams to standardize practices and tools over the group procurement.
• You will monitor the procurement activities on bids/projects/products and to track competitiveness performance and risks/opportunities on procurement on CPL’s business
• You will contribute to the acquisition MYB of the GBU, by providing the data related to your BL.
• You will ensure compliance with the customers’ contractual requirements and compliance with Thales’ procurement policy and with the “Manage Acquisition” process of Chorus 2.

Requirements:

• Background in Engineering, with a focus on Procurement
• Prior experience in designing solutions for customer Do you
• Proven track record in procurement management with VA/VE analysis is a plus.
• Good understanding of the BL business model and of product lifecycles
• Experience in Make or Buy and risk management skills
• Experience with long term vision of product or project
• Experience in Bid and Program management competencies
• Bring added value / capture innovation
• To manage by influence and to convince You should be good at problem resolution and conflict management.
• Able to lead international multi-organization projects
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal?
• Able to prioritize tasks while meeting deadlines in a high-pressure environment
• 10 + years experience in procurement and logisitics
