Overview
The Decision Support Financial Analyst will be an integral part of the Financial Planning team, annual budgeting, monthly reporting and variance analysis and maintenance of the Decision Support System. The Analyst compiles complex qualitative and quantitative clinical and financial data from multiple sources, and synthesizes results into meaningful reports and presentations to assist senior management in decision making and other financial initiatives. The Analyst will be involved in Institute-wide profitability analysis and special projects in support of the Chief Financial Officer, VP of Finance and Senior Director of Financial Planning.

Responsibilities
- Assists in maintenance and updates of the structure of the Decision Support system and reconciliation to the GL and hospital billing system.
- Ensures that the assigned systems’ data loads are occurring timely and efficiently.
- Audits the assigned systems for accuracy and data integrity and maintains appropriate documentation on the data validation process.
- Coordinates and prepares special report requests for information, ensuring consistency and accuracy with other published reports and financial systems.
- Completes special project requests from operations and other financial departments related to data requests requiring decision support system information.
- Works with IT and other pertinent departments to research and resolve data discrepancies.
- Demonstrates technical and analytical expertise, timely follow-through on commitments, and excellent customer service.
- Assists with the development, implementation and operation of systems and processes to support the activities and goals of the Financial Planning (FP) department.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Business.
- 1-3 years of related work experience, preferably in the health care industry.
- Requires superior computer skills in MS Office applications, decision support system and automated general ledger system. Strata experience strongly preferred.
- Must be comfortable manipulating, interpreting, and summarizing large data sets.
- Must have superior judgment, discretion, interpersonal skills and communication skills to effectively work and communicate on sensitive political and confidential issues.
- Must be able to function independently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Must pay particular attention to understanding the detail by performing reconciliations, implementing controls, and reviewing work completed.
- Must be committed to a customer service philosophy.
