Demand & Supply Production Control Specialist

Job Description

Space and Airborne Systems (SAS) is looking to staff a Demand and Supply Production Control Specialist position within the Advanced Product Center North Texas Operations group. This pivotal role will operate in multiple shop floor and Material Requirement Planning (MRP) related systems to ensure alignment between material position and production schedule. Primary responsibilities will include:

• Evaluating and coordinating program requirements to ensure a controlled flow of materials and services to meet customer requirements
• Providing status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed
• Working daily to confirm material supply and demands
• Preparing work orders or purchase requests for the production or purchase of components or parts based on a master production schedule, shop load, and inventory requirements
• Coordinating cross-functional interdepartmental activity as needed (i.e. with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, programs, logistics)
• Working with program support staff to resolve material shortages and other issues impacting product build
• Taking corrective action on unfavorable trends as necessary
• Reporting on and troubleshooting MRP system generated exceptions

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Secret Security Clearance within 1st year of start date
Required Skills:

• 2 years of prior related experience
• Experience using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) processes and/or software
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, Power Point)
• Experience in production control, logistics, supply chain, manufacturing, or project management.

Desired Skills:

• SAP knowledge and experience
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and environment
• Experience in Material and Inventory Control-type systems such as Kanban, SMI, Continuous Flow Manufacturing
• Ability to apply Lean and 6 Sigma concepts to improve departmental, factory related, and cross-departmental processes

Required Education: BS / BA from an accredited university with a major in Operations, Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management or related field
