General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is seeking an Oracle DBA to support our Navy customer in Crane, Indiana.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Configuration management, performance tuning and administration of mission critical production databases
• Perform short and long term system/database planning and analysis
• Integrate/collaborate with application development and support teams on various IT projects
• Contributing to the improvement and creation of DBA policies, procedures and standards
• Providing Production database support.
• Defining Oracle database architectures and strategies to meet application availability, scalability and performance requirements
• Providing technical guidance for integration, testing, design, development, planning of new major, large scale, production systems/databases
• Diagnosing highly complex and integrated systems/databases such as system configuration, application design and application code
• Writing and debugging PL SQL code
• Structured approach in problem resolution
• Pro-active database management

Education

BA/BS

Qualifications

• BS degree; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
• 8+ years of experience as an Oracle production and development DBA on Unix/Windows in a 24x7 environment
  • In depth knowledge of Oracle internals (latches, system waits, resource allocation, data dictionary, table and index storage and access parameters)
  • Extensive experience in performance tuning and troubleshooting - drill down approach with O/S, database and application
  • Experience in designing solutions and performing global enterprise database backup and recovery
  • Experience with Oracle RAC
  • Oracle PL/SQL Collections, Bulking techniques, Analytical Functions, Partition utilization to increase performance
