Software Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

• Responsible for leading development teams in a fast-paced software development environment
• Complete end-to-end management of the work that teams do including planning, prioritization, delivery, monitoring progress, and reporting
• Work with team members to ensure sound technical and functional designs
• Manage the processes to ensure continuous delivery of high-quality products
• Facilitate communication within the team and with all stakeholders
• Identify and communicate delivery risks and define mitigation plans
• Resolve impediments, and escalate when necessary
• Holding weekly one-on-ones with team members
• Conducting quarterly and yearly performance reviews with team members.
• Providing continuous feedback to team to ensure a high-performing software team

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
• Minimum 5 years’ experience leading software development teams
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong meeting facilitation skills
• Ability to identify delivery risks and define and execute mitigation plans
• Experience with Agile software development management, including:
• Creating scrum board and workflows in JIRA
• Holding sprint planning, daily standus, and backlog refinement meetings with developers and project stakeholders
• Story point estimation and sprint reporting
• Holding meaningful sprint retrospectives to create a culture of feedback
• Deep experience and knowledge of software engineering.
• Ability to provide technical guidance to software engineers
• Ability to quickly problem solve and solution technical obstacles
