Manager, Data Engineering

The Engineering team at RigUp leverages a variety of tools to enable and sustain a scalable and highly-resilient platform for delivering customer value. We are organized into agile, cross-functional product line teams consisting of engineering, product and design which allows us to develop deep expertise and rapidly deliver high-value features and functionality.

What you’ll be doing:

• You’ll be building and managing a Data Engineering team
• You’ll be partnering with Product Management to create and execute on product roadmaps
• You’ll be partnering with Data Architecture to create and execute on a Data Platform
• You’ll be creating data pipelines, extracting data from our various applications into the Data Platform
• You’ll be creating curated datasets that are conducive for stakeholder consumption
• You’ll be partnering with Business and Engineering teams to ensure requirements are met

What you should have:

• 8+ years experience in a Data Engineer/Management role
• You've got experience being responsible for the management of Data Engineers
• You’ve got experience with providing career guidance, setting goals, and conducting reviews
• You’ve got experience in planning, assigning, and executing on tasks and deliverablesYou’ve experience with hiring and interviewing potential candidates
• You’ve got experience working with Data Architects and Product Managers
• You’ve built and maintained Data Lakes and Data Warehouses
• You’ve engaged Business Intelligence, Analytics, and Data Science teams for requirements
• You’ve leveraged data modelling techniques - OLTP and OLAPYou’ve experience in at least one cloud vendor (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• You’ve got experience in data warehousing and big data solutions (Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, etc)
• You’ve got experience in ETL/ELT solutions (Informatica, SSIS, Stitch, Matillion, Pentaho, etc)
• You’ve got strong communication skills - comfortable interacting with both engineering and business focused teams
