Job Description:

We are searching for a forward-thinking, proactive individual, who will ensure that company SAP Operations are functioning efficiently and provide world-class customer support.

You will assume primary ownership and management of the corporate SAP batch scheduling application which processes several thousand jobs each day. You will maintain the operational reliability of the production landscapes and apply quality standards to safeguard stability. As the Operations Analyst, you will take charge to investigate and fix complex issues affecting the batch schedules.

This role supports key SAP batch management processing that touches all aspects of the company’s financial, ordering, inventory, purchasing, shipping, and engineering practices. You will form cross-department collaboration with technical teams, as well as provide hands-on experience in daily operations and project initiatives.

You will recommend options for increasing automation of business processes to drive efficiencies and gain performance advantages. And, you will be empowered to make technical decisions with latitude for independent judgment in the course of your duties. By analysis of system data, you can identify enhancement targets in the landscape and play a key role in the corporate Digital strategy. You will bring fresh, innovative ideas that embrace a continuous improvement culture to expand functionality and increase business value.

Principal Responsibilities:

Strategic:

• Work with Collins technical teams and key partners to implement architecture design / process improvements
• Execute against systems architecture roadmaps including SAP batch management and other related systems
• Modernize and Optimize SAP Batch Management Processes
• Help to develop and report status and metrics for critical systems/assessments

Operational:

• Process incident and service requests related to the SAP batch system
• Participate in health-check, break / fix and operational report activities
• Assist with maintaining and updating architecture design / diagram repository
• Coordinate the development and scheduling of batch processing with appropriate business unit contacts
• Support the Collins SAP functional teams with batch processing requirements
• Proactively respond to any performance issues and processing alerts
• Generate and analyze metrics for the batch system to make recommendations for improvements
• Support the SAP DT teams during critical system outages and maintenance periods

Experience/Skills Required or Preferred:

Required:

• 5+ years' experience working either in an IT/Operations environment, as an IT systems administration, or in an SAP Basis role, with understanding of IT networking concepts, servers, storage, databases, PCs, and applications architecture
• Strong analytical thinking, customer focus, teamwork and troubleshooting skills
• Knowledge of systems architecture / performance management methodologies and tools
• Strong oral and written communication skills with technical and non-technical personnel
• US Person required (US Citizen or Green Card Holder), no visa sponsorships available for this position

Preferred:

• General knowledge of SAP technology, architecture and interfaces including SAP batch processing
• Prior work in a large, global SAP environment
• Knowledge of third-party SAP scheduling tools a plus
• Prior experience with Redwood BPA software a plus
• Knowledge of ITIL framework and / or LEAN manufacturing tools and methodologies

Basic Qualifications:
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 7 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 5 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 11 years of relevant experience is required.
