The Role
Reporting into the Director of Platform Operations, as an SR Engineer, you will be a critical part of the Site Reliability Engineering team supporting HighQ’s application platform, providing services to our customers around the globe.
As a member of the Site Reliability team you will be part of the core Platform Operations function that is responsible for the day to day security, delivery and availability of our platform. Carrying out project work to continually develop, improve our service as well as responding to monitoring systems and 1st & 2nd line support escalations as required. Ensuring we meet or exceed our customers’ expectations, contracted and agreed SLA’s. You’ll be expected to engage with all areas of the business including 1st/2nd line application support team, infrastructure team and our development team to help solve any issues that arise.
HighQ is expanding its Site Reliability team to provide 24/7 coverage for our global clients, you will also be expected to participate in the team shift / on-call rota which supports our maintenance, scheduled work, support and release/deployment requirements.

Essential Skills
This is a role focussed on supporting the delivery and service improvement of a leading software platform, prior experience working for a SaaS provider would be desirable.
Successful candidates must be able to demonstrate an ability to take total ownership of issues. You will need to be a quick learner, can think on your feet and a proven problem solver. This opportunity would suit a web application support engineer who has extensive experience of working with Apache/Tomcat/MS SQL platform in a large web environment and orchestration and automation tools.
We are looking for candidates with unbridled enthusiasm for improvement who will ask questions and suggest better ways of operating.
