As the Logistics Specialist for DC Ops, you will assist the DC Ops Sr. Logistics Manager procuring, tracking and receiving of the various equipment required for the operations of all DC Ops data centers. In this role you will manage the tracking and fulfillment of DC Ops orders with key Suppliers. You will be expected to engage and work with various DC Ops & VMware teams including Data Center Operations, CPE, R&D Bu’s , GLO, Sourcing, Procurement, Finance/Accounting/Tax and Project Managers to determine requirements. Working with these teams, you will help the DC Ops team continually meet their operational goals.
Responsibilities:
- Assist DC Ops Sr. Logistics Manager managing DC Ops supplier contracts and renewals in conjunction with Sourcing.
- Monitor the approval chain process for open purchase requisitions and assist moving PRs forward as needed. Document verifications in open PR ticket.
- Document tracking updates for open (non-delivered) orders in Helpnow ticketing system until orders are delivered.
- Ensure receipt updates are posted in open Helpnow tickets and orders are received in SAP.
- Work with the VMware’s GLO, Procurement, Sourcing and Tax team to identify methods to procure equipment in the various countries DC Ops operates.
- Act as point of contact and escalation for all DC Operations purchasing requests
- Assist planning equipment purchases for international and domestic locations per FY quarter.
- Work closely with Project Managers to manage all shipments to project timelines and provide regular status updates
- Manage projects as assigned by DC Ops Sr. Logistics Manager.
Skills & Experience:
- 1 to 3 years procurement experience.
- Supplier management experience.
- High School Diploma
- Excellent written and verbal communication is required
- Excellent documentation, communication and interpersonal skills
- Account system familiarity (Oracle and SAP). Strong Microsoft Excel experience
- Ability to manage high volume of tasks associated with order process.
