Aurora Flight Sciences is in need of a mechanical engineer with specific experience relating to design, analysis, testing, hazard assessment and verification closure of hardware articles for NASA's Universal Battery Charger for the International Space Station (ISS).

Required Qualifications

• Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 5 years experience
• US Person
• Experience with NASA's Universal Battery Charger for ISS
• Experience with NASA's Payload Safety Review process for ISS, including:

designing mechanical adapter modules for the Universal Battery Charger
- performing FEA on custom designed adapters
- performing venting analysis
- documenting standard and unique hazards and verification closeout
- performing testing / analysis to meet PSRP verification requirements
- coordinate procurement of custom mechanical items
- assembly of spaceflight hardware

Preferred Qualifications

• Doctorate degree preferred
• Excellent organizational, time management, and process management skills as well as keen attention to detail
• Proven interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively and efficiently, both independently and with collaborative teams across all Aurora locations
• Self-starter with a track record of producing results
• Ability to work in a rapidly growing environment with the ability to handle competing tasks and changing priorities
• Candidate must be able to work remotely or on-site and work to tight deadlines. Candidate shall support design reviews and meetings with Aurora and customer.
