Reporting to the Vice President of Global Corporate Affairs, the Director, Global Public Policy and Regulatory Affairs (“Director”) will be located in Washington, DC and is responsible, in collaboration with the GCA team, the business units, LCPO and other key internal stakeholders, for the conduct of global public policy analysis and development as well as managing and coordinating engagement before regulatory agencies globally.
Lead a global and integrated public policy and regulatory affairs capability to ensure external public policy from our global jurisdictions is analyzed, modeled (as appropriate) and properly presented to our global BU and corporate function areas.
The Director also Influences external platforming related to core public policy positions, as well as helps build strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive change and manage shared vision on public policy objectives. This includes educating colleagues on Intuit’s public policy values and realities of the governmental and political external global environment.
The Director is a people leader and will inspire, develop and lead a team of four professionals, skilled in the public policy and regulatory affairs tradecraft, in strategizing and developing global legislative and regulatory policy objectives, and helping develop appropriate strategies for the company’s US external affairs advocacy with the policymaking community.
The Director will work as a member of the Global Corporate Affairs (GCA) team to help develop and manage the strategic direction Intuit’s public policy positioning to help shape the public Intuit narrative while enhancing the company’s reputation and the brand.
This leader also works in close partnership with the BUs to develop Intuit policy positions and proposals to operationalize with legislative, regulatory and stakeholder partners to drive optimal external advocacy outcomes.
In addition, identifying and managing internally-driven policy strategies aligned with the Corporate Affairs organizational priorities is critical to delivering our strategic outcomes.
Serves as a thought leader and respected representative in the external public policy and regulatory community for the Intuit company, promoting the company’s capabilities, expertise, innovation, customer focus, strategic vision, public policy point of view and corporate values.
Works with internal and external business partners to advance strategic objectives that shape the external and internal environment. External partnerships include coalitions, NGO's, think tanks, academia, policy institutes, interest groups, and trade associations, to develop and advocate shared public interest objectives. Internal partnerships include the company’s business and functional groups.
Candidates must have a minimum of 15-20 combined years of experience as a leader in public policy with a major corporation, a firm and/or trade association and with senior experience working in the US Congress, Statehouse, or in a government agency.
Bachelor’s degree required. Masters, MBA or law degree preferred, in relevant field.
A strong understanding of the legislative and policy issues associated with the Intuit business, including tax, financial services, small business and technology (data, privacy, AI) law and regulation.
