Responsibilities
POSITION OVERVIEW: Belvidere is a manufacturing facility of appx. 560 employees serving the Snacks Operating Unit and Convenience & Foodservice (C&F) Segment. We operate in a dynamic business environment, with a rich history of performance and innovation and renovation. Most recently, we added Natural and Organic bars production into our portfolio after divesting Green Giant, which concluded over 110 years of vegetable growing and manufacturing. We are continuing to evolve to a more complex product portfolio to meet the changing needs of our consumers and customers (organic, non-GMO, new packing formats). We also have DPS on site, serving our C&F customers with cereal.
The Snacks Operations Manager for the site will play an integral role driving overall plant results through collaboration with our plant leadership team and advancing Zero Loss Culture. This role will partner closely with the Snacks Operating Unit on key business initiatives and strategies. The Operations Manager will serve as a line team coach and assume other key leadership responsibilities requiring flexibility, agility, and creative problem solving.
This role will have 10-12 direct reports and will have responsibility for providing the direction and development of the ~300 team members in operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES: - Lead the development of a Zero Loss Culture in the department and demonstrate iLEAD and Engaging Leader behaviors.
- Develop short and long-term strategies to drive, productivity, organizational effectiveness and improvements in key plant priorities and metrics.
- Lead Operations department, including developing and leading divisional efforts and influencing decisions that will impact the business and the plant.
- Guide, educate, coach, develop and motivate work group to achieve required human safety, food safety, and production results.
- Ensure effective interchange of information between operations department and support resources at the plant and within GMI.
- Foster a strong working partnership with all functions to support plant objectives.
- Create an environment where all employees are encouraged & developed to reach their full potential in meeting department/business goals.
- Provide business leadership that demonstrates commitment to department and plant goals on a day to day basis.
- Ensure effective interchange of information across all department within the plant and GMI.
- Ensure the proper selection, training, development and motivation of the team to maximize current and future performance.

Qualifications
REQUIRED SKILLS: - Bachelors degree
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Leadership experience in a manufacturing environment or other applicable experience
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Manufacturing, Business or Management preferred
- 7+ years of relevant experience
- Strong leadership skills including the ability to effectively lead change
- Ability to develop and lead strategic initiatives
- Demonstrated ability to effectively engage with the floor including building positive employee relations and developing a Zero Loss Culture
- Effectively delivered results through others by managing salaried employees and/or leading cross-functional teams
- Solid business judgment including demonstrated problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Demonstrated understanding of technology (i.e. complexities of products, machinery, and costs)
- Good financial analysis and resource allocation skills; experience developing productivity pipeline is preferred
- Excellent coaching skills and ability to deliver effective feedback
