Senior UX Designer

Aquent’s Product team is looking for a senior UX designer to join us in crafting digital solutions that are smart, inventive, and continue to push the boundaries of both our business and the staffing industry.

At Aquent, designers are embedded in multi-functional sprint teams that focus on an array of problem spaces. This means our designers are uniquely positioned to directly influence our business and empower our teams. This also means we are looking for generalists who can lead and execute all phases of user-centered design processes. We’re looking for someone who has a deep understanding of UX patterns and principles and a passion for using them in ways to discover and solve complex workflows and design challenges.

What you’ll be doing

Partnering: You will work with product managers, designers, engineers, stakeholders, and users to think through new and existing product initiatives, features, and workflows. You will also collaborate with stakeholders and designers on the evolution of our websites’ experiences.

Crafting: You will be responsible for defining entire user experiences. This means your proficiency in areas such as user research, information architecture, concept development, prototyping, and user testing will not only shine through execution but also help promote better UX processes and standards across the entire product organization.

Educating: You will be a crucial part in our team’s continued growth, as a craftsman and leader. Along with our Product Designer and our marketing creative you will help instill UX practices across this newly established product organization, while proactively mentoring others.

What we’re looking for

  • At least 5+ years of experience as a professional Product or User Experience Designer. This role requires someone who can not only masterfully execute UX design but also engage as a leader in defining and championing UX practices and processes.
  • Experience leading small and large scale UX initiatives. You will be applying your expertise to an array of challenges including product discoveries, product features, and customer facing websites.
  • A passion for user-centered design.
  • Experience conducting, documenting, and synthesizing user research in order to make informed design decisions.
  • Experience gathering and translating business, user, and brand requirements into smart, effective, and elegant user experiences through user flows, IAs, wireframes, and prototypes.
  • A solid understanding of graphic and UI design principles, including information design, typography, color, composition, and layout.
  • A solid understanding of web and mobile development frameworks and limitations.
  • Experience implementing UX design processes in an agile environment.
  • Experience working and communicating with different disciplines within the design ecosystem – designers, engineers, business stakeholders, users.
  • An uncanny ability to inspire and guide others.
  • A portfolio of relevant work that demonstrates your skills and process as a UX designer.
  • A degree in a design or HCI related sub
