Principal Duties and Responsibilities

We are looking for candidates to develop Dell’s data protection storage systems. The engineer will develop features, functionality, or optimize performance for the industry’s leading data protection storage system.

As a Software Engineer, you will join self-organizing, highly motivated, fast pace agile scrum teams to deliver the cluster infrastructure for Data Domain, industry’s leading data protection appliance. As the scrum team member, this software engineer may be involved with developing automation for new functionality, bug fixes, and new features. This involves cross-functional teamwork with architecture and development teams that build system infrastructure software for traditional and next-generation data protection environments. Other responsibilities include: investigating next-generation cloud technology and development techniques, hardware technical trends, and evaluating user experience.

The ideal candidate demonstrates willingness to learn, takes initiative, is curious and innovative, possesses broad technical skills, can budget time well, has the ability to troubleshoot issues, and is a team player.

Essential Knowledge/Skills:

• Familiar with basic computer architecture
• Familiarity with engineering principles
• Familiar with C, automation, Python scripting, Linux
• Strong written, verbal and presentation skills

Preferred Competencies:

• Knowledge of container technologies like docker.
• Knowledge of virtualization and cloud technologies.
• Knowledge of version control, bug tracking systems (SVN, Git, JIRA).
• Knowledge of scrum methodology.

Education:

Candidate should be working towards a Bachelors Computer Engineering, Computer Science
